Evergreen Quilters Guild, Green Bay, WI is an organization
founded in 1982. It is open to anyone interested in quilts or quilting.
We meet once a month on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, in the basement of
the Grace Lutheran Church, 321 S. Madison St., Green Bay,WI.
There is a day meeting that starts at 12:30 p.m. and an evening meeting
that starts at 6:30 pm. The day meeting is an informal meeting with door
prizes, show and tell, and any business that needs discussing. After
the brief meeting the remaining afternoon is spent working on personal
projects, charity quilts and socializing. Due to personal schedules the
majority of our members come to the evening meeting. The evening meeting
has show and tell, door prizes, socializing and a business discussion,
but it is also when we have our guest speakers, our annual holiday party
and our summer pot-luck picnic.
Besides a monthly meeting our guild offers classes throughout the year.
These classes are usually taught by celebrity teachers. We also hold a
quilting retreat or camp twice a year. The camps are dedicated to
completing our projects without the interruptions usually found at
home. We receive a monthly newsletter that keeps you updated on
all guild activities. We hold an annual workshop that is dedicated to
making charity quilts, however, our members also work on charity quilts
at home all year long.
Every two years we hold a judged quilt show in which non-members can
enter quilts. This show is one of the biggest in the area. The proceeds
from it go to funding our monthly programs and other guild expenses.
We have over 125 members at this time and would love to have you come
and visit. You may visit 2 times before we ask that you join our group.
Our membership dues is $20.00 annually which comes due in June. Anyone
interested in joining in the middle of the year will receive a prorated
rate. |
